Biography

James Rhee is an acclaimed impact leader, entrepreneur, educator, and investor known for transforming individuals and organizations by identifying and unleashing purpose through a unique blend of mathematical and creative systems thinking. He currently leads Red Helicopter, a media-education platform aimed at fostering a global community grounded in values of kindness and mathematics. His journey includes a celebrated reinvention of Ashley Stewart, which under his leadership as chairman and CEO from 2013 to 2020, became a brand employing predominantly Black women and exemplifying the power of diverse ecosystems in the context of multi-stakeholder capitalism. Rhee's story has been spotlighted by leading media platforms, TED conferences, and Brene Brown. As a founding investor in FirePine Group, he manages impact investments for discerning global investors. He also holds significant advisory roles, including positions on JPMorgan Chase’s Advancing Black Pathways Advisory Council and the Executive Committee of Conscious Capitalism. Rhee is a regional EY Entrepreneur of the Year honoree and a board member of the National Retail Federation.
