Biography

Jan Löwstedt is a Professor at Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University, where he has been since Spring 2009. He has held chaired positions in Business Administration at Mälardalen University and Blekinge Institute of Technology, as well as serving as a professor in organization theory at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Löwstedt earned his Ph.D. from SSE in 1989 and has been appointed Director of the Centre for People and Organization (PMO). He is a member of the board of the research institute EFI and serves on the editorial board of Human Relations. His research primarily focuses on international comparative research projects, organizational change processes, and the interplay between people and organizations. He conducts collaborative teaching on CEMS (European Community Management Schools) master's programs in management, and has been a Guest Research Fellow at Templeton College, Oxford University, ESADE in Barcelona, and a Guest Professor at HEC in Paris. His current research projects center on issues related to the integration of organizations, mergers and acquisitions, knowledge in action within organizations, and innovation in organizational change. He has authored over a hundred scientific works, including books, conference papers, and research reports, focusing on empirical results from a diverse range of organizational types, including industrial enterprises, professional service firms, governmental agencies, and schools.
