Biography

Jana Vietze is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Sciences team at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Potsdam, Germany, in 2019. Her research focuses on the role of parents, peers, and schools in the cultural belonging, well-being, and school adjustment of youth. Currently, she investigates cultural diversity and inclusion in education, with a specific emphasis on how minoritized children and their peers experience cultural socialization messages and changes in belonging and academic adjustment during early to late adolescence. Jana employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including quasi-experimental research and intensive longitudinal data analysis. She draws on perspectives from developmental psychology, inclusive education, and cross-cultural psychology.
