Biography

Janet Loo is a lecturer in the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University, specializing in Foundations Singing and Vocal Methods. She has extensive experience as a choral conductor and vocal pedagogue, having led various choirs for decades, including the Taizé community in France. Currently, she is the Director of Music Ministry and Artistic Director of the Chamber Choir at King's University College. Over the years, she has served as a choral conductor for several organizations, such as St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica in London and Holy Rosary Church in Toronto, as well as for the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto. As a mezzo-soprano, Janet has performed with the Fanshawe Chorus, Arcady, London Singers, the International Symphony Orchestra, and the Pacific Opera Victoria, among others. She is an appointed member of the National Council on Liturgical Music, which provides guidance to Catholic bishops across Canada in the field of liturgical music. In addition, Janet serves on the Board of the London Arts Council.
