Family All-Ages Nurse Practitioner (NP), Janet Luimes has a special interest in patient family centered preventative health care promoting mental health across ages. Janet has worked in various nursing roles including in the emergency department, chronic disease management, and family practice education. However, her true passion lies in primary health care. She completed her BScN in 2005 and MScN in 2008 at the University of Ottawa, and went on to obtain a Post-master’s Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Diploma from McMaster University in 2010. Janet has been teaching with the University of Saskatchewan's College of Nursing since 2012 while maintaining an active clinical practice as a nurse practitioner. Her clinical experience informs her professional practice, scholarship, and educator role, allowing her to support and strengthen nurse practitioner competency development, as well as develop innovative educational strategies for integrating and optimizing the NP role.
