Biography

Jannik Eikenaar teaches Communication at the School of Engineering at the Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia through interdisciplinary research focused on the influence of an author’s persona on understanding literary works. Jannik teaches at UBC’s Vantage College and has previously taught at Okanagan College. He has worked for several years in the publishing industry. Jannik serves as the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) Advisor for the School of Engineering and is an active member of several UBC committees, including the Okanagan Senate and Aboriginal Initiatives Committees. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Jannik is involved in community service as the Regional Officials Chair for volleyball in his province and coaches his daughter’s U11 girls' soccer team.
