Biography

Jasmine Travers Altizer, PhD, MHS, RN, FAAN, is an Associate Professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her research focuses on improving care outcomes for underserved older adults, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Altizer’s current work examines disparities in access to long-term care services, home-based care, community programs, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Beeson Emerging Leader Award and has served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Committee on Quality Care in Nursing Homes, contributing to significant reports aimed at improving nursing home quality. Her publications delve into topics such as aging, health disparities, and nursing care, and she actively presents her findings at major health services research and nursing conferences. Altizer completed her postdoctoral training at Yale University and holds degrees from Columbia University, Yale University, Stony Brook University, and Adelphi University.
