Biography

Jasmine Rault is an Associate Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Arts, Culture, Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. Rault’s research focuses on the mediations of gender, race, sexuality, architecture, design, digital cultures, economies, and the arts in relation to social movements. Her publications explore themes of coloniality, digitality, and architectural modernity, as well as queer popular culture and queer activism in Mexico. Notable works include articles in journals such as Feminist Media Studies and Women & Performance, and her book entitled 'Eileen Gray Design Sapphic Modernity: Staying' published by Ashgate/Routledge. Rault is also co-director of the Digital Research Ethics Collaboratory and involved with Cabaret Commons.
