Biography

Jason Edward Lewis is a digital media theorist, poet, and software designer. He founded the Obx Laboratory for Experimental Media and conducts research and creative projects that explore computation and creative cultural material. Lewis is devoted to developing innovative new forms of expression that operate on conceptual, critical, creative, and technical levels simultaneously. He holds the position of University Research Chair in Computational Media and Indigenous Future Imaginary at Concordia University, where he is also a Professor of Computation Arts. Lewis is involved in several initiatives such as the Abundant Intelligences Partnership and the Indigenous Futures Research Centre, and has directed the Initiative Indigenous Futures. His creative work has been showcased at numerous prestigious events including Ars Electronica, Mobilefest, and SIGGRAPH. He has received accolades such as the inaugural Robert Coover Award for Work of Electronic Literature and has contributed significantly to the discourse on Indigenous futures and emergent media theory.
