Biography

Jaspreet Loyal, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and serves as the Section Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. In his role, he oversees the inpatient pediatric units at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, focusing on enhancing patient care and ensuring efficient processes within the hospital. Dr. Loyal's clinical work involves treating children with acute illnesses and facilitating their return to health. His research interests center on improving communication between medical providers and families, particularly regarding vaccine hesitancy and shared decision-making in pediatric care. He is dedicated to understanding family dynamics during medical encounters and addressing their concerns with empathy and professionalism. His academic background includes a Doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin, a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Stanford University, and extensive training as a chief resident at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Loyal is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association, where he contributes to committees aimed at improving newborn care and medical education.
