Biography

Jeffrey M. Siskind is a Professor in the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology (1979), an S.M. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1989), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1992). His research interests include artificial intelligence, cognitive science, computational linguistics, machine vision, programming languages, visual event perception, child language acquisition, optimizing compilers, mostly-functional programming languages, programming environments, and robotics. Siskind has published extensively in these fields and is recognized for his contributions to the understanding of cognitive processes and intelligent systems. He actively teaches and mentors students, guiding them in various advanced topics within electrical and computer engineering.
