Biography

Jelena Milojević is one of the foremost accordion performers, having studied in Croatia and Serbia. She ultimately received her Master’s Degree in Accordion Performance and is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Music Academy (FILUM) in Kragujevac, Serbia. As a versatile musician, she has an extensive performing history, playing numerous concerts across Europe, North America, and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras. Her performances have taken place in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Berlin Philharmonie. She is a winner of several international accordion competitions including the CMA World Trophy and the International Accordion Competition in Castelfidardo, Italy. Her performances have been acclaimed for their brilliance and creativity. Jelena has collaborated with internationally recognized composers and has performed with acclaimed orchestras like the Vancouver Symphony and the Berlin Symphony. In addition to performing, she has made significant contributions to accordion education in Canada, organizing major accordion events and teaching for over 20 years, during which her students have won numerous prizes in international competitions. Jelena is also the Artistic Director of the World Accordion Tango Festival in Victoria and frequently adjudicates major accordion competitions.
