Dr. Jenni Ingram

Biography

Jenni Ingram is a Professor of Mathematics Education at Linacre College, University of Oxford. She has held academic positions at the University of Warwick and has experience teaching mathematics in comprehensive secondary schools across England. An internationally recognized researcher and award-winning mathematics teacher educator, her work is focused on the pivotal role of interaction, communication, and language within mathematics classrooms. Jenni’s research interests encompass international large-scale assessments, key mathematical concepts in the mathematics curriculum, and areas such as mathematical equivalence, variables, functions, angles, probability, and mathematical argumentation. She actively contributes to the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and collaborates on projects aimed at developing language-responsive mathematics classrooms. Her teaching extends to various modules including DPhil Education and MSc Teacher Education, positioning her as a prominent figure in mathematics education research and practice.
