Biography

Jennifer Clemons is an associate teaching professor in the Energy and Sustainability Policy bachelor’s program and the Renewable Energy Sustainability Systems master's program at Penn State University. She has extensive experience in energy education, specializing in solar design and finance. Clemons is a North American Board Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certified Photovoltaic (Solar) Instructor and has led study abroad courses in Denmark, Switzerland, and Japan. She is a co-principal investigator at the NSF National Energy Center, focusing on supporting energy faculty, curriculum development, and promoting professional development aimed at broadening participation in energy careers, particularly for women and underrepresented minorities. With over fifteen years of teaching experience at the community college level in energy and solar programs, Clemons has authored the 6th edition of 'Energy: Use and Environment' (2024). She has received multiple awards including the 2024 Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) award from the U.S. Department of Energy for her leadership in education.
