Biography

Jenni is an Education Focused academic in the Sydney School of Veterinary Science at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camden (UVTHC). Her primary role involves clinical training of final year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students with significant input in desexing clinics. Jenni's passion is to provide supported autonomy to DVM students during their placements in the small animal department at UVTHC. She joined the University of Sydney in 2011 as an intern after graduating from Massey University, New Zealand, where she worked in mixed practice across both North and South Islands. Before that, she earned a BVS (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and worked for five years in a multinational water company in the United Kingdom. In 2013, Jenni took the position of Head of the Small Animal Department at UVTHC, where she incorporated clinical training for final year veterinary interns, focusing on cat and dog primary medicine and surgery, as well as business growth and team leadership. In 2018, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (Higher Education) at the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Becoming an academic in 2021, Jenni focuses on student-led teaching that addresses stakeholder perspectives on veterinary services and the expectations of new graduate veterinarian employers.
