Biography

Jenny Baechler is a Senior Instructor and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management. Her research focuses on cross-boundary collaboration, particularly how individuals and organizations can overcome barriers that limit productive collaboration. Jenny’s work bridges the fields of public administration, political science, and international development studies to explore collaboration in contexts of global conflict and instability. Her PhD dissertation examined the organizational and human factors that advance or limit the implementation of 'whole-of-government' strategies, with a specific focus on Canadian and UK governments’ capacities for international stabilization activities from 2002 to 2012. Currently, her research interests include understanding and recognizing the innovative practices within organizational and individual capacities that foster effective 'whole-of-government' initiatives. In her teaching and facilitation roles, Jenny emphasizes the importance of experiential learning, providing students in her MPA and MBA programs with opportunities to apply their skills in professional environments.
