Biography

Jenny Byrne is an Emeritus Fellow based at the Southampton Education School, University of Southampton, where she has been a faculty member since 2000. Prior to joining this university, she worked at the University of Chichester as a Senior Lecturer in Science Education. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Bacteriology from the University of Birmingham, a Master’s degree in Health Education, and a PhD from the University of Southampton. Jenny has extensive experience across various phases of education and has also served as a Senior Health Education Specialist in the NHS. She supervises Master’s and PhD students and coordinates an occasional seminar series on behalf of the BSA Auto/Biography Study Group. Her current research focuses on the socio-scientific issues in Environmental Education, specifically studying women authors and the connection between gardens and literature, while collaborating with colleagues on diverse projects.
