Dr. Jesper Bruun

Biography

Jesper Bruun is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen specializing in Physics Education Research. His research primarily focuses on the learning and teaching of Physics within upper-secondary and university education contexts. He has developed a keen interest in Learning Analytics, utilizing large datasets to understand and enhance educational systems across different levels. Methodologically, he employs network analysis to examine complex teaching situations and educational outcomes. His current work involves analyzing E-learning behaviors among physics students and studying their academic social networks, as well as conducting in-depth evaluations of multiple-choice assessments like the Force Concept Inventory using network analytic techniques. Bruun also explores kinesthetic learning exercises and their relationship to students’ understanding of physics phenomena. In addition to his research, Jesper teaches science and physics didactics courses, supervises bachelor thesis projects, and actively participates in academic conferences, underscoring his commitment to advancing science education through innovative pedagogical approaches.
