Jia Fei teaches Chinese language courses at beginner and intermediate levels with a special focus on conversational Mandarin and Business Mandarin. Her background includes teaching Chinese as a foreign language and understanding power and language acquisition. She incorporates current theories of language learning, pedagogies, and technology in the classroom to facilitate a nurturing and inclusive learning experience. Jia is also involved in developing the Mandarin curriculum for SFU’s Global Communication MA Double Degree program, and is currently working on the SCOLA project, which aims to help language leaders at BC post-secondary institutions identify and develop core competency frameworks and placement test banks for Chinese language.
