Biography

Jihoon Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, awarded in 2020, as well as both an M.S. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST obtained in 2011 and 2009, respectively. His research interests focus on Advanced Manufacturing, including Metal Additive Manufacturing, Semiconductor Packaging, and Laser-assisted Materials Processing. He is particularly engaged in process monitoring and control, in-situ thermal characterization, and developing data-driven prediction models for process control. Jeong's work is well recognized in the field; he has received several awards, including the Outstanding Paper Award at the Manufacturing Research Conference and the Young Researcher Award at the International Conference on Precision Engineering Sustainable Manufacturing in 2024.
