Biography

John Schriever is a Visiting Professor with an accomplished 39-year career in the professional sports industry. He brings extensive experience in ticketing, event management, facility management, marketing, and customer service at Texas A&M University in the Sports Management Department. Formerly the Senior Vice President of Ticketing and Event Services for the Houston Texans from 2000 to 2023, Schriever played a pivotal role in launching the franchise and managed ticketing while eventually overseeing event operations at NRG Stadium. Notably, in 1997, the Speedway hosted 220,000 fans at its inaugural NASCAR race. Additionally, Schriever held the position of Director of Tickets for the Texas Rangers from 1984 to 1996, where he managed the transition to Ballpark Arlington, which significantly boosted ticket sales and attendance for the franchise during a period marked by notable acquisitions and milestones.
