Biography

Jon Cowell is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His main areas of expertise include assessment, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational change. He is passionate about improving leadership effectiveness within organizations to enhance performance and support the development of workplaces where people can thrive sustainably. Jon began his career as a stockbroker and investment analyst before spending 30 years as a business psychologist. In this capacity, he has assessed and coached leaders and leadership teams, and taught leadership to executives. He previously served as Head of Learning & Development at a major UK energy business while at Kaisen Consulting (now part of Deloitte Leadership) and became the Chief Executive of Edgecumbe Consulting Group in 2016, before taking over as Chair in 2023. Jon is a co-author of 'Leadership: Heroes', which was published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2021. He has contributed as a teacher, coach, and facilitator to various notable programs, including the Orchestrating Major Projects MSc and the EY Future Partners' Development Programme.
