Dr. Jonathan Cardella

Biography

Jonathan Cardella is an associate professor of surgery, specializing in vascular and endovascular surgery at Yale School of Medicine. He has extensive experience in complex endovascular surgeries, critical limb ischemia, and diabetic atherosclerotic disease. Dr. Cardella's clinical practice focuses on hybrid surgical techniques, peripheral vascular disease, varicose veins, and dialysis access. He completed his undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto. Dr. Cardella underwent further training in endovascular surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and vascular surgery at the University of Toronto, where he later joined as a staff surgeon. His research interests encompass surgical education, simulation, and skill training milestone design. Dr. Cardella has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in significant academic contributions, including serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Endovascular Therapy. He aims to provide effective treatment options for patients suffering from vascular diseases and is motivated by the impacts of his work on patients’ lives.
