Biography

Jonathan Foss is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Warwick. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick in 2007 and pursued a PhD from 2008 to 2013. His doctoral thesis, titled 'Manual Automatic Authoring Adaptive Hypermedia', focused on enhancing the usability and functionality of authoring tools in personalized education. As part of his research, he collaborated in the design and development of the GRAPPLE Authoring Toolset (GAT) within the GRAPPLE (EU FP7) project. After completing his PhD, he worked on several postdoctoral research projects, including the CONSTRUIT! project under the EU Erasmus+ program, which aimed to create open educational resources to improve learner engagement through working models. He has taught various computer science modules, including Database Systems, Advanced Databases, and Programming for Computer Scientists, and has supervised lab sessions across multiple topics. His research interests include Adaptive Hypermedia, Educational Technology, and Social Informatics.
