Biography

Joshua Roach serves as the Director of the BU Wind Ensemble. Prior to joining the faculty of the School of Music, Roach taught at various institutions across the United States, including the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, College of New Jersey, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Peru State College, and California Lutheran University. He has provided clinics for bands and orchestras nationally and served as a guest conductor for organizations like the Los Angeles Winds and Pacific Symphony. Roach has also worked internationally as an assistant conductor in Korea and China and has been involved in music education at various levels for over eleven years, including teaching at the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program. His compositions and arrangements have been performed across the United States, and his music has been featured in network broadcasts. Roach earned his bachelor of music degree in performance and a master's in conducting from the University of Southern California, as well as a doctorate in wind conducting from the University of Michigan.
