Biography

Jost Sieweke is an Associate Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Department of Management & Organization. He received his PhD from the University of Düsseldorf in Germany in 2012, focusing on Pierre Bourdieu's concept of habitus in the context of management and organization studies. He has also been a visiting scholar at institutions such as Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business in Vancouver and the Stockholm School of Economics. Since 2019, Jost has served as the program director of the Executive MBA: Leading Purpose at the School of Business and Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research has been featured in prestigious academic journals including Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business Psychology, Journal of Purchasing & Supply Management, and Leadership Quarterly. His main research interests include strategic leadership, the impact of leaders on follower behavior, crisis leadership, and the conditions under which organizations learn from errors. As a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Management Studies and Leadership Quarterly, he is actively involved in shaping the discourse in these fields.
