Dr. Julie Boulis

Biography

Julie Boulis is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Macquarie University. She is the main lecturer convenor of the Master of Professional Psychology Postgraduate Program. Julie is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and has completed her Doctor of Education degree at the University of Wollongong as well as her Professional Psychology degree at Macquarie University. Her research interests focus on curriculum development innovations that enhance student engagement and predictors of successful learning outcomes. Julie developed the active learning pedagogy utilizing the Reflection-Focused Think-Pair-Share strategy, which gives students the autonomy to share their learning experiences, improving their reflexivity competencies and providing timely feedback on counseling skills application. She is currently investigating the use of the Self Reflection Observation Form combined with a self-reflection AI coach to enhance student performance in the Master of Professional Psychology program. Julie also engages in community practice and participates in various committees at Macquarie University, contributing to the fields of Teaching and Leadership and Artificial Intelligence in Education.
