Biography

Julie Nantel is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. She serves as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies and has been a faculty member since 2008. Dr. Nantel specializes in Biomechanics, having earned her Ph.D. from the University of Montréal in 2008, along with an M.A. in the same field in 2004 and a B.Sc. in Kinesiology in 2001. Her research interests include studying postural balance disorders, normal and pathological gait patterns, and the effects of various intervention modalities on balance and mobility in the elderly population, particularly those with Parkinson’s disease. She is committed to enhancing knowledge in functional mobility and preventing fall risks among older adults through evidence-based research. Dr. Nantel actively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and contributes to academic development in health sciences education.
