Biography

Julie Robinson is a University Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow, where she has been since August 2004. Her professional background is in primary education, having earned her Undergraduate MA(Hons) Degree in Geography and an MEd (distinction) from Glasgow University. She also holds a PGDE Primary (distinction), which she completed during a study abroad experience in Boston, USA. Robinson teaches a range of theoretical and interdisciplinary courses within the undergraduate MEduc and postgraduate PGDE Primary Education programmes. She contributes to the Masters in Museum Education and Education for Museums and Heritage (International) programmes, supervising a wide range of MEduc and MEd dissertations. Her research interests include Inclusive Education, Environmental Education, Primary Mathematics, and Museum Heritage Education. She is passionate about social justice and sustainability pedagogies, valuing the harmonization of caring for people, places, and the environment. Robinson has significant experience as a tutor in schools, having worked extensively with school partners and mentoring students during their placement teaching qualifications. Additionally, she serves as an advisor for MEduc Year 1 students.
