Biography

Julieta holds an LLB, LLM, and PhD from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Pedagogy for Legal Education. She joined the University of Glasgow in October 2024 as a British Academy International Fellow. Prior to this role, Julieta was a teaching assistant and lecturer in labour law at the University of Buenos Aires from 2017 to 2024. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law during 2022-2024. Before entering academia, she worked as a paralegal and legal practitioner, handling employment and collective labour law cases in Argentina from 2012 to 2017. In her career, Julieta has provided training for the Judiciary of Argentina, the Argentinian Ministry of Labour, and the Peruvian Ministry of Labour. Her research focuses on work regulation from a socio-legal perspective, integrating legal analysis with economic sociology and political economy. Julieta's interests include the governance of labour law theories, informal economy regulations, and patterns of gender and race in legal work regulations. Her research has been funded by significant institutions such as the British Academy and the Max Planck Society. In 2022, she received a Distinction for Teaching and Research Careers from the University of Buenos Aires.
