Biography

Justin Emerich is a professor of trumpet and chair of the Brass Area at Michigan State University College of Music. He has extensive orchestral experience, having served as acting associate principal trumpet with the San Francisco Symphony for two seasons and performed with numerous prestigious orchestras including the Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, and Philadelphia Orchestra. Emerich is an avid chamber musician, touring with groups such as Canadian Brass and Burning River Brass. He has recorded five albums and performed in numerous Broadway shows in New York City. A dedicated educator, Emerich is passionate about mentoring his students, many of whom have gone on to perform with top symphony orchestras and hold positions in prestigious military bands and academia. His students have achieved significant accolades in competitions and have performed in notable venues including Radio City Music Hall. Emerich is a graduate of Lynn University and the Juilliard School of Music.
