Kamran Sedig is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at Western University. He is the director of the Insight Lab, where he investigates the design of interactive technologies that support human mental activities, including data management, decision making, problem solving, and learning. Before joining Western University, he was a Research Staff Member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York. Kamran has significant experience in the aerospace industry and has made substantial contributions to the field of Human-Computer Interaction through his research. He earned his Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Professor Maria Klawe, with his dissertation nominated for the Governor General’s Gold Medal. He also holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from McGill University, and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Concordia University, where he graduated as Valedictorian of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.
