Biography

Karen Curry is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing and teaches Population Health Nursing, Public Health Nursing, and Introduction to Epidemiology Methods Nursing Practice Professional Formation. With over 25 years of experience as a community health nurse leader, Karen has worked primarily in home health care with the Victorian Order Nurses (VON). For the past 10 years, she has supported nurses and unregulated care providers’ practice in her role as a Professional Practice Educator Consultant with VON and has advocated for practice change initiatives to develop community health nurse capacity. She completed her Master's in Nursing in 2014 from Athabasca University with a focus on teaching. Additionally, Karen has been involved with Community Health Nurses Canada (CHNC) for 10 years in various roles and is currently the President-elect of CHCN.
