Karim Jerbi is an Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal and holds the Canada Research Chair in Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroimaging. He leads an interdisciplinary research program that investigates the neural substrate of brain function and dysfunction by applying advanced signal processing methods and machine learning to multimodal and multi-scale brain data. His research focuses on the dynamics of large-scale brain networks in relation to normal cognitive processes and the breakdown of psychiatric disorders. Jerbi's work utilizes both invasive (intracranial electroencephalography, iEEG) and non-invasive (EEG, MEG) recording techniques, along with artificial intelligence tools. His interests span interdisciplinary research questions concerning the neural basis of attention, decision-making, consciousness states, and the interaction between art and creativity in neuroscience. He completed his PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and Brain Imaging at the University of Paris VI, France, and has a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
