Professor Dr. Kate Johnson

Biography

Kate Johnson is an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology at the University of Saskatchewan, where she focuses on the treatment and research of various malignancies. Born and raised in Saskatoon, she has a deep connection to her hometown, especially during the enchanting prairie winters. Johnson completed her undergraduate education in neuro-systems plasticity and engaged in a physiology fellowship researching the relationship between stress and disease. Her medical training journey began at the University of Saskatchewan, where she completed her internal medicine residency. She pursued further specialization in Radiation Oncology with residencies and advanced training at notable institutions, including the BC Cancer Agency and Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Johnson's clinical and research interests lie in brachytherapy techniques, particularly for genitourinary and gynecological malignancies. She actively mentors medical students and residents at the University of Saskatchewan and enjoys running along the beautiful Saskatoon river trails, teaching yoga, and spending quality time with her family.
