Dr. Kate Rowbotham

Biography

Kate Rowbotham serves as the Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning) and is an Assistant Professor at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. With a PhD in Management from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and an MSc in Management and an Honours BA from Queen’s University, Kate's research primarily examines the themes of inclusion and exclusion within organizational and educational settings. Her work also delves into the implications of gender on negotiation outcomes and academic integrity. She has co-authored various studies, emphasizing student perceptions of integrity and the experiences of belonging in academic contexts. Additionally, Kate is actively engaged with the Queen's community, helping to train student government leaders and working as a dispute resolution advisor. As the co-founder of an inclusive teaching community, she advocates for learner-centered pedagogy and contributes to the development of effective human resource practices for non-profit organizations. Kate's commitment to improving academic integrity is demonstrated through her involvement in numerous presentations and publications on the subject.
