Dr. Kathleen Morrison

Biography

Kathleen Morrison is a distinguished scholar whose research focuses on historical ecology in Southern Asia, particularly examining the interactions between agriculture, land use, and environmental change. Her current projects encompass a variety of significant areas, including a long-term study of biodiversity and human land use, the Land Cover6k project leveraging archaeological and historical data to enhance climate models, network and spatial analysis of inscriptions and archaeological sites in Middle period South India, and ongoing investigations into the archaeology of farming and food relations from the Neolithic to the Early Modern period. She has a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 1992, and holds a Master's degree from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. Morrison's impressive academic portfolio includes extensive work in ecological conservation, political ecology, and archaeological methodology, making her a leading authority in her field.
