Biography

Keely Austin's work focuses on genre theory, language ideologies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion curriculum assessment, bringing meaningful experiences to learners. Her past experiences have given her opportunities to mentor students, develop and teach courses, and collaborate with programs across a variety of disciplines to actualize equitable occasions for learners' voices to contribute to knowledge and community building. She teaches courses in English, including 76-100, 76-101, 76-745, 76-748, and 76-302/702 practicum. In Modern Languages, she teaches 82-794 and 82-795, mentoring students in the AL/SLA MA program. Keely is also involved with the Robotics Institute Summer Scholars program and is engaged in Educational Diplomacy initiatives. She previously held the position of Director of Communication and Language Support at the Student Academic Success Center. Currently, she works with both the Modern Languages and English Departments and enjoys interactions with her amazing students and colleagues, learning something new every day. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, petting people's dogs, and hiking.
