Biography

Kenneth D’Souza is an accomplished scientist and instructor with expertise in physiology, pathophysiology, cell biology, and biochemistry, particularly in metabolic regulation. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dalhousie University, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (Co-op) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from McMaster University. Prior to joining the University of New Brunswick (UNB), D’Souza completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at Dalhousie University. His research background spans both basic and translational clinical sciences with an emphasis on metabolism and signaling in health and disease. He has held research positions at Dalhousie University and served as Senior Scientist and Research Director at the New Brunswick Heart Centre. D’Souza has prior teaching experience that includes laboratory and lecture-based courses across various subjects such as physiology, pathophysiology, biology, and biochemistry at UNB, UNB Saint John, and Mount Allison University. Among the courses he has taught are Human Physiology and Pathophysiology courses.
