Biography

Kerry Winkelseth is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Applied Exercise Science at the University of Michigan's School of Kinesiology, where she also serves as the Director of Kinesiology Community Programs. She obtained her Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan in 1991. Throughout her career, Winkelseth has been instrumental in creating and directing various sports education programs for children, including KidSport Summer Camps, U-Go Girls, and U-Meet Athlete. She co-directs the Kinesiology Aquatics Camp, focusing on educating youth and adults about water safety. An avid educator, Winkelseth is passionate about encouraging students to develop a lifelong commitment to health, wellness, and physical activity. She has received the School of Kinesiology Teaching Excellence Award and is a certified American Red Cross Instructor. Her areas of research interest include physical education, children's education, and safety education across elementary and secondary levels.
