Dr. Kevin Watson

Biography

Kevin Watson is an Associate Professor in Music Education at Western University, specializing in music psychology and jazz pedagogy. He serves as the Artistic Director of the Western University Jazz Ensemble and co-director of the Western Young Winds program. His research focuses on jazz education and music teacher preparation, with work published in major journals such as the Journal of Research in Music Education and Music Education Research. Watson has presented his research at international conferences in England, Brazil, and the United States, and regularly serves as an adjudicator and clinician for music festivals, particularly in jazz concert bands. He earned his graduate degrees from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and the Berklee College of Music.
