Dr. Kristen Lwin

Biography

Kristen Lwin has been involved in social services for several decades, particularly focusing on child welfare. Her experience includes working on intake and ongoing services for children and families within the criminal justice system, especially for victims of intimate partner and sexual violence. Kristen has led child welfare research and evaluation as the Executive Director of a knowledge translation organization that collaborates with child welfare organizations across Canada. She has taught courses related to policy, practice, and research in child welfare, emphasizing the importance of developing a robust child welfare curriculum to prepare students for effective practice. Kristen is dedicated to enhancing the understanding of the dynamics between child welfare workers and the organizations they operate within to improve outcomes for children and families served by these systems.
