Kristen Yeon-Ji Yun is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Music at Purdue University. An active soloist and chamber musician, she is also a musical scholar and clinician. Her recent CD "Summerland" has received excellent reviews from New Classics UK and American Record Guide and has been broadcast on nationwide radio stations such as WQXR, WCNY, WBAA, and NPR. Yun has toured numerous countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, and Japan, delivering a series of successful concerts and master classes. She has won various international competitions, including the IBLA World Competition in Italy and the Walton Concerto Competition at Indiana University. She has soloed with orchestras such as the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and the Korean Symphony Orchestra. Prior to her current position, she served as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor at Colorado Mesa University. Yun received her Doctor of Music in cello performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied under the renowned cellist Janos Starker. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in cello performance from Seoul National University.
