Kristofer Chan is an interdisciplinary researcher and educator focused on environmental issues, hydropolitics, development, and related education. His research employs satellite remote sensing, GIS, and open-source environmental sensor design, integrating social science methodologies to triangulate results. He serves as the Departmental Deputy Education Lead (Digital) and co-leads the Environmental Science and Sustainability MSc program at King's College London. Kristofer also convenes several modules, including GIS & Spatial Data Science and Earth Observation: Science Applications. Before joining King's, he taught at the London School of Economics and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Geography department at King’s. His recent research includes investigating land cover changes in Colombia through the POR EL Páramo project and environmental livelihood impacts in the Omo river basin in Ethiopia. He holds a PhD from King's College London, an MSc in Conservation with Distinction from University College London, and a BSc (Honours) in Geography from Durham University. Kristofer is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an active member of the Royal Geographical Society's Geography & Education Research Group.
