Dr. Lara Carminati

Biography

Lara Carminati is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, specializing in Organisational Behaviour, Change Management, and Consultancy within the BMS-HBE-ETM research group. She joined the University in 2019 after completing her PhD in Management and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Surrey, UK. Her doctoral thesis investigated healthcare professionals' identity conflicts in ethically charged situations, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods including Grounded Theory, Structural Equation Modeling, and Multilevel Analysis. Lara also holds a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication and International Business with Distinction from the University of Surrey, along with a Master's degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Milan, graduating with the highest honors. Her areas of expertise include Psychology, Community Health, and Qualitative Research. Lara's current research interests focus on identity, emphasizing the impact of disruptive technologies and AI on professional identities, emotional values, and the dynamics influencing identity work. She is particularly interested in human-AI interactions, emotional intelligence, and ethical decision-making processes shaped by intercultural differences. Her work has been published in various academic journals, including Frontiers in Psychology and Qualitative Health Research.
