Laurent Donzé is a Professor of Applied Statistics and Modeling at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, where he leads the ASAM research group. After earning his Doctorate in econometrics in 1990 from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Fribourg, Laurent worked on several projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation at the Economic Research Office of the Canton of Ticino. He also completed further training in mathematics at the University of Fribourg. From 1996 to 2002, he was a scientific collaborator at the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich, where he established the Swiss business panel. He was appointed professor of statistics at the University of Fribourg in 2002, where he continues to teach and conduct research, affiliated with the Department of Computer Science. Since then, he has regularly collaborated with the KOF ETH Zurich as a research professor and has been a lecturer at the University of Neuchâtel since 2016, teaching econometrics. He also mentors for the Swiss Study Foundation and is chair of the Education and Research section of the Swiss Statistical Society.
