Biography

Laurent Donzé is a Professor of Applied Statistics Modelling (ASAM) and the head of the research group at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Fribourg. His teaching experience includes courses in Mathematics, Econometrics, Introductory Statistics, Survey Statistics, and Applied Econometrics. His main research fields are survey methodology, specialized methods in Applied Statistics, wage discrimination, causal effects estimation, imputation, matching techniques, and fuzzy statistics. He has published numerous articles in academic journals and has served as a referee and reviewer for various journal editions. Donzé earned his Ph.D. in Econometrics from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He has also worked on SNF projects at the Research Institute Economics Canton Tessin. Between 1996 and 2002, he was a senior scientific collaborator at the KOF Swiss Economic Institute of ETH Zurich, where he built projects for the Swiss Firm Panel. In 2002, he gained a position as a Professor of Statistics at the University of Fribourg and has since been involved in teaching and research within the Department of Informatics. He held a research professorship at KOF ETH Zurich until 2016, concurrently serving as a Professor of Econometrics at the University of Neuchâtel and mentoring students through the Swiss Study Foundation. Additionally, he presides over the SSS section 'Education Research' for the Swiss Statistical Society.
