Biography

Lee Gunderson is a Professor in Language & Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds a Ph.D. in Language Literacy Education from Berkeley and has extensive experience as an elementary teacher and administrator. Gunderson has been instrumental in various educational initiatives, including founding the BC ESL Assessment Consortium. His research interests focus on language, sustainability, transnationalism, and the interplay between communication, mind, and body. He has contributed significantly to UBC Language Sciences and was recognized with the UBC President's Award in Education Media in March 2009. Gunderson also received the Media Contributor Year Award from the British Columbia Deans Education Association for the 2008/2009 academic year.
