Biography

Leslie DeChurch is a Professor of Management & Organizations at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where she also holds courtesy appointments in Communication Studies and the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on leadership and teamwork, examining how these elements contribute to extraordinary success in various contexts, including the Italian Renaissance and modern human-AI partnerships. DeChurch directs the ATLAS lab—Advancing Teams, Leaders, Systems—which conducts experiments and field studies to understand core organizing processes. She has been recognized with an NSF CAREER award for her leadership research and has published work in top-tier journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and the Journal of Applied Psychology (JAP). DeChurch is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science, and she served as the Past-President of INGRoup, the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research. Her educational background includes a PhD and MS from Florida International University as well as a BS from the University of Miami.
