Biography

Dr. Liane B. Johnson is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University specializing in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery. She completed her undergraduate education in Genetics at the University of Western Ontario and her medical degree at McGill University. Dr. Johnson undertook her residency in Anesthesia at Dalhousie University and continued with a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and holds recertification from the American Board of Otolaryngology. Her research interests focus on clinical case studies involving airway pathology in pediatric patients and simulation-based learning for airway management procedures. Dr. Johnson has published extensively in her field and has received several awards, including the European Society Paediatric Otolaryngology Scholarship and the Ross Stewart Smith Fellowship from Dalhousie University. She is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents at Dalhousie Medical School and has contributed to various courses focused on difficult airway management.
